Printable Workout: The Pinterest Workout

28 Feb

If you haven’t had a chance to check out the newest internet obsession “Pinterest” yet, you absolutely must give it a try! I love perusing the web and finding great outfits, cool home ideas and recipes and with Pinterest I can create virtual inspiration/ interest pinboards and keep all those finds in one place. It’s also a great way to find inspiration for your wedding, home design and of course…workouts!

Due to my Pinterest devotion, I though I’d make this week’s printable workout “The Pinterest Workout” and here is how it works.Since the workout is based on what’s one the Pinterest homepage it will be different each time you do it.

  1. Go to the Pinterst hompage and look at the first 10 pins.
  2. Complete the exercise that corresponds with the category of the first 10 pins. Depending on how hard you want the workout to be you can do 15 or even 20 pins.
  3. Click here pinterest-workout to get the workout’s printable instructions and exercises.
  4. Always drink plenty of water and enjoy!

Printable Workout: The Fab 15 – Total Body Workout

7 Feb

What do these lovely ladies have in common…Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Sophia Vergara, Penelope Cruz, Minka Kelly and Brooke Burke?Well, successful careers, amazing style and killer curves courtesy of one Gunnar Peterson. Gunnar is one of my favorite celebrity trainers and he’s the go to guy for actresses, models, musicians and even professional athletes who count on being in amazing shape and super fit for their jobs.

One of my favorite things about Gunnar’s workouts is that he combines cardio, upper body, lower body and core exercises in each session. This principle not only inspires many of my own personal workouts, but it also inspired this printable one …“The Fab 15- Total Body Workout”. Combining all these exercises is one workout keeps your heart rate up and works multiple muscle groups at once turning your body into a fat and calorie burning, muscle toning machine. It also keeps you from getting bored and ensures your workout is over and done in no time. After all, we have much better things to do then spend all day at the gym…things like scouring Pinterest for new recipes, home inspiration or adorable puppy pictures, right? (FYI if you’re not on Pinterest yet, then go…go now… but be warned it might take over your life;)

Motivation Monday

16 Jan

I studied Philosophy in college and this Aristotle quote depicts one of my favorite concepts. It’s the idea that to get where you want to be   (i.e., excellence in any sense whether that’s your health, relationships, career, organizational skills, you name it) it’s about doing small things everyday that lead you there. It’s about creating a practice or trend of choosing and doing things that lead us to excellence and make us excellent in the doing of them. I think this is great because it alleviates the pressure of having to have all the answers or be at your goal weight or in your dream job right this instant….instead feel accomplishment for the things you did today that are leading you to your goal.

I think we can all agree that Aristotle is a pretty well regarded thinker 😉 and he believed we are all capable of excellence if we just focus on making a habit of doing small things everyday that lead us to our big dreams. If you make this concept a practice I promise you’ll be at those big dreams before you know it!

Motivation Monday: Fitspiration!

“Success is the sun of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”

My Dad has always told me this and still does whenever I feel overwhelmed, in over my head or anytime I just want to give up. These feelings happen to the best of us and I think this quote is so true and great advice. I tell myself it every morning and I think it’s a pretty good quote to start the week 🙂
